Got a Mac?

AviSys is a native Windows program. We do not produce a native Apple program. With Macs still enjoying only a low single digit market share, the development costs of creating a native Mac application would be a going-out-of-business strategy in a market as small as birding software. And the facilities described below make it a moot point anyway -- a major part of Apple's rationale for converting to an Intel chip.

While we do not test it here, we have many happy customers using AviSys on Macs running Virtual PC (a Microsoft program that allows Windows programs to run on Macs); Boot Camp, the Apple program produced to run Windows programs on the new Intel-based Macs; and such facilities as Parallels. Parallels seems to be the most popular.

Of course, this involves purchasing a copy of Windows, and purchasing a copy of the facility to allow running Windows if you don't choose the free facility, BootCamp. (We have had reports of trouble with a facility that claims to enable Windows applications without buying a copy of Windows -- and I can understand why.)

On the plus side, with one of these facilities, the number and variety of applications available to you is increased by orders of magnitude.

The good news, also, if you are coming from another birding program, is that data entry in AviSys is very fast and easy.

And remember, since we don't test Macs here, we can support AviSys but cannot support, nor guarantee, the Windows implementation facility. See your Apple dealer. As always, AviSys has a full money back guarantee, including refund of shipping costs both directions, if you don't like how it works on your Mac.

Thanks for inquiring about AviSys.
