The new Clements 2010 (December) taxonomy is a prerequisite to this state checklist update.

here to download it. (If you have 9984 species in World Mode you have it. If you don't know if you need it, there is no harm in installing it twice.)
Tony White State Checklist Update ~ August 2011
Download the file, using the link below, to update your AviSys Version 4.x, 5.x, or 6.x state checklists to the latest level ~ August 2011 ~ regardless of the level of your current copy of AviSys 4.x/5.x/6.x (assuming you are at Clements 2010).
Subscription Requirement:
To run the utility you will be required
to have your password as supplied by Tony White in the update
newsletter he sent to you. Without your password, the utility
will do nothing!
If you have not updated your copy of AviSys to the latest
level, after downloading this utility, go to the main AviSys
web site <www.avisys.net> and download and install the latest free program update: if you are using Version 6.00x, update it to 6.00L or later; if you are using Version 5.00x, update it to 5.00F; if you are using Version 4.x, update to Version 4.58D. (In AviSys: Help | About AviSys) Update the program before
doing your backup and running the checklist update.
If you have not updated your taxonomy to Clements 2010 December (9984 species in World mode), please download the free update to Clements 2010 from our web site, and install it, before continuing.
Do a data backup (Utils/Backup Data) before running this checklist update. See www.avisys.net and take the link to an important discussion about backup.
If you have multiple bird data sets, run the utility for each bird data set. (It will crash if you try to run it on a Butterfly,
or other critter, data set.)
Remember! where you save
the file TONYUPDT.EXE when you download it to be sure you don't run an old one in the next step.
After downloading the file, find it in Windows Explorer (or My Computer) and double-click
it to run it.
The current file is the August 2011 data set.
The update will bring all your state checklists completely
up to date, regardless of how far behind you may have gotten.

NOTE!! NOTE!!: After completing the state checklist update, delete any state/province/US/Canada checklists, and any [XXX] checklists, from your Checklist menu, (IF you have them installed there) and re-add them.

Here You may want to check out the new stuff in the Version 6.0 upgrade from 4.x or 5.x.
If you are planning to upgrade to Version 6, if you wish, you can do this state checklist update in Version 4/5, and it will carry over to Version 6 in the conversion.
